The project is the second phase of the 1,550MW AWEC development.
The first five Alta power projects have been completed and are providing electricity to the grid, with a total generating capacity of 720MW.
Terra-Gen will continue to manage and operate the wind projects under long-term agreements, and intends to build another 300MW of projects to complete by the end of this year.
As per the power purchase agreement signed in 2006, Southern California Edison will buy all of AWEC’s wind energy capacity.
Citi and Google had earlier invested $55m each company in the Alta IV project.
Citi has also underwritten the equity financing for Alta projects II-V, totaling 570MW.
The Alta projects will use a new transmission line developed as part of the 4,500MW Tehachapi renewable transmission project.
