Both the companies will leverage Climeon’s Ocean heat power solution along with IF Technology’s experience in designing geothermal systems.

Climeon’s Ocean vacuum-enabled heat power solution is designed to generate electricity from hot water efficiently compared to other solutions of its kind.

Capable of operating in ultra-low temperature ranges of (70-120°C), Climeon Ocean enables production of geothermal electricity economically feasible way in the Netherlands.

The partners are planning to generate 100% clean electricity from geothermal heat. The process, however, would require no fuel or specific weather conditions.

Climeon CEO Thomas Öström said: "With more than 25 years of experience working with geothermal projects, IF Technology is our perfect partner.

"In addition to this, the Netherlands with its strong governmental backing for clean energy projects, is perfect for expanding our market."

The deal also marks a milestone in realizing the intentions of the Paris COP21 agreement.

IF Technology director Martijn van Aarssen said: "Climeon’s revolutionary and award winning Climeon Ocean solution makes electricity production possible and opens up new opportunities for generating clean power in the Netherlands."

The partners are currently negotiating with potential customers to integrate the solution in their geothermal projects. They are planning to announce the first projects in this year.
