Construction of this complex unit was launched in late 2006, and work has been completed in March 2008.

The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has said that through hydrofining, this unit can reduce sulfur content in straight-run and catalytic cracking diesel components from over 10,000 parts per million (PPM) to less than 50PPM, lower than the Euro-4 standard.

With the diesel hydrogenation complex unit going into service, Dalian Petrochemical will significantly enhance its productivity of clean diesel that meets international standards, and is expected to become the largest clean diesel producer in China.
