The 1,067km Shandong natural gas pipeline which extends from Taian to Weihai in China, comprises of one trunk and six branches.

The pipeline has an annual transmission capacity of 8.6 billion cubic meters.

Construction work at the Taian-Qingdao began on 28 September 2009.

The trunk was commissioned on April 26, 2011 with natural gas reached Qingdao on April 29.

Shandong natural gas pipeline network receives gas from CNPC’s Changqing, Qinghai and Tarim gas provinces in China and Central Asian countries through the Shaan-Jing Gas Pipelines.
