The Kentucky Office of Mine Safety and Licensing said the accident was reported on Tuesday at the Huff Creek Mine near Holmes Mill in Harlan County.
According to state officials, the miners were working inside the Harlan County mine and were trapped when a wall apparently collapsed.
The injured workers suffered no life-threatening injuries, reported Associated Press.
Huff Creek Mine is operated by Lone Mountain Processing, a subsidiary of Arch Coal.
