A 500 MWe coal-fired power plant will be built in Ilgin, Konya, central Anatolia for a cost of $1.15 billion.
The consortium includes the Turkish companies Guris Insaat ve Muhendislik and Dogus Insaat ve Ticaret and the US companies PSEG Global and North American Coal Corp. The project is due to take 42 months to complete. The consortium has signed a 38 year power purchase agreement with the government. The station will burn 3.75 million t of coal each year to generate 3.5 TWh.
