Victoria Krupadanamma, chief general manager of CPDCL Metro Zone, said to Express that the they have commenced the work on establishing some 33/11 KV substations and the rest would start soon, once the State Government allot the lands to them.

The 33/11 KV substations worth INR40m would be coming up at Bandlaguda, at Zaminstanpur worth INR14.4m, and at Yousufguda worth INR13m. Once the process of acquiring the land is completed, works would be commenced at Nizam College, Osmania University, Chintalbasti and Koti Women College.

New substations are proposed at locations, which include Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) worth INR70m, ESI Corporation worth INR55m, Hakeempet worth INR65m, Moti Mahal near Golconda worth INR60m, Yakuthpura worth INR65m, Panjeshah near Charminar worth INR35m, Banjara Hills, Road No 2 worth INR59m and Rod. No. 12 worth INR50m.

Substations are also expected to come up at Ashurkhana, Bakaram, Secunderabad, Mahboob Mansion, Trimulgherry, Diamond Point, near KIMS Hospital, Near Rythu Bazar in Mehdipatnam, Devi Bagh and Mallepally.
