SOS is the market-based, fixed-price electricity purchased by the company on behalf of its customers who do not buy their electricity from competing retail suppliers and also those who do not choose the option of hourly-priced service.

Issued in compliance with the Delaware Public Service Commission (DPSC) terms and conditions established in Docket No. 04-391, the RFP seeks supply of about 455MW of electricity.

Peak load contributions by customer class include 285 MW for the combined residential, small commercial and industrial customers, 135MW for the medium general service-secondary (MGS-S) customers, while the large general service-secondary (LGS-S) and general service-primary (GS-P) customers each will receive 15 and 20 MW respectively.

Having already started pre-bid preparation activities, the company plans to hold a pre-bid conference for prospective bidders that will review the bid schedule and the RFP process improvements later this month.

Beginning in December 2013, the bidding process will complete in early February 2014, while the service contracts for electricity supply to the winning bidders are scheduled to be awarded in June of the same year.
