Delta Products will use the DOE funding to develop and demonstrate a residential EV charging system with smart grid communication capabilities.

With the help of the smart-charging system, the utilities will be able to reduce infrastructure costs and manage load during peak hours.

The research project will develop smart-grid enabled residential EV chargers over the next three years that will allow the quick deployment of charging infrastructure for plug-in electric vehicles (PEV).

A working demonstration system will be developed by Delta in conjunction with their partners The Detroit Edison Company, Mercedes Benz R&D North America, and kVA.

Delta Group is a provider of the power and thermal management solutions.
