CNOOC is said to be the client for the Penglai 19-3 oil field project, while Harbin Guanghan Gas Turbine is the customer for the Dongfang 13-2 gas field development project.

Discovered in 1999, the Penglai oil field is situated in Bohai Bay and is one of the largest offshore oil fields in China.

Under the deal, Dresser-Rand will supply two SGT-A30 RB power generation trains for the Penglai platform. The project will also feature Dresser-Rand’s 30MW ISO power rating SGT-A30 RB turbines.

The SGT-A30 RB gas turbine will minimize project risks and is expected to serve as cost-effective solution for challenging offshore applications.

Discovered in 2012, the Dongfang field is a high-pressure and high-temperature gas field situated in the South China Sea.

Dresser-Rand will provide three SGT-600 power generation trains for the Dongfang platform.

The core components of each train include an industrial gas turbine, base frame, lube oil system, unit control panel and gearbox.

The platform will also be provided with auxiliary systems such as air intake and fire-fighting system, which are supplied and packaged by HGGT.

Dresser-Rand business new equipment solutions head Matthew Chinn said: “Both contracts exemplify the confidence our clients place in us because of our track record of high-quality, advanced technology solutions for offshore power generation needs that ultimately serve to lower our clients’ total life cycle costs.”
