Dresser Waukesha, a manufacturer of gaseous-fueled engines, has announced that it is partnering with its sister company, Dresser Wayne, to supply engines which will drive compressors in compressed natural gas filling stations in Thailand.

According to the company, in the first collaborative effort by the two Dresser businesses, Dresser Waukesha will supply 12 VGF engines which will be packaged with Dresser Wayne’s Cubogas compression systems at the company’s facility in Talamona, Italy.

The packaged compression units will be shipped from Italy to Thailand and are scheduled for installation later in 2009 at new filling stations in and around Bangkok, said the company.

The new stations will help meet the increased demand for compressed natural gas (CNG). The new stations, equipped with large engine-driven compression units, are designed for high volume and will service more customers more quickly. The stations are so-called mother stations that will also fill tanker trucks that will, in turn, supply smaller stations.

The Waukesha engines will be fueled by methane and will provide back-up power for the compressor systems, said the company.

With offices on five continents and manufacturing facilities on four, Dresser Wayne has engaged itself in retail and fleet fueling industry ever since its beginning in 1891. It is also a supplier of integrated services to its customers in the retail and fleet petroleum industry.
