The well, which is the second well in the company’s Butterwash Paul’s Valley Uplift prospect, is targeting Simpson Sands including the Basal Oil Sandstone, and secondary objectives include the Arbuckle formation.

Breitling-Butterwash #2 is a 4,700ft well located on the Richardson anticline in south-central Oklahoma.

Breitling Oil and Gas CEO Chris Faulkner said that the Basal Oil sands are usually laterally continuous and thick in this area.

"Based on our mapping, we are trapped in by a four-way closed anticline in a down-dipped fault block," Faulkner said.
