The new FPP, with an integrated system of power generation, LNG storage and regasification, can replace the traditional land-locked power plant for the power industry.

The FPP is categorized into two different types — one is floating storage power plant (FSPP) and the other is barge mounted power plant (BMPP).

Introduced in two standard designs, the FSPP is an all-in-one product featuring multiple functions of power plant and LNG import terminal in a single plant.

The 200MW model of the FSPP is a combined cycle power plant with 3-3-1 configuration (3 GTGs, 3 HRSGs and 1 STG) capable of storing up to 88k cbm of LNG in the internal storage while the other FSPP model features six gas engines comprising 100MW power capacity with a 100k cbm LNG storage tank.

FSPP’s additional advantages include fast track solution, cost benefit, less destruction of the environment, reducing local inhabitant’s resistance.

DSME said: "Our technologies stability at present has verified while constructing lots of LNG-based product and offshore oil & gas platforms such as LNGC, LNG-RV, FSRU and FPSO."

The BMPP has been unveiled with several basic designs from a 25MW coal-fired BMPP to a 200~250MW diesel engine and combined cycle BMPP, which uses natural gas and diesel as its generation fuels.
