The Growth through Research, development & demonstration in Offshore Wind (GROW) consortium will help introduce innovations to the market.
It will also invest at least €100m on research, development and demonstration projects over the next five years.

The GROW members include Delft Offshore Turbine, Deltares, ECN, Eneco, Lagerwey, LM Wind Power, Royal IHC, RWE, Seaway Heavy Lifting, Shell, Sif, TenneT, TNO, TU Delft, Van Oord, and Volker Stevin International.

Additionally, GROW innovation program will execute a joint technical innovation program to address the offshore wind challenges.

At such a price, offshore wind is expected to compete with other renewable and fossil energy sources without requiring subsidies. The first projects under the pregame are scheduled to commence this autumn.

The program will contribute to the Netherlands’ goals for a renewable and independent energy supply.

The GROW consortium is the successor of the Far and Large Offshore Wind (FLOW) research program.

The five-year FLOW research program involved 13 Dutch partners and aimed to help reduce the cost of offshore wind by 20%.

GROW, which is currently seeking options for government support and cooperation, will work with the Top consortium for Knowledge and Innovation Offshore Wind (TKI Wind op Zee).
