The proposal, named as Pampa Camarones, calls for the installation of around 1,200,000 crystalline silicon PV modules of 300Wp each totalling up to 300MW (AC).

To be located in Arica and Camarones, in the province of Arica and Parinacota, the plant will be built with an investment of $620m. The power plant will be connected to Chile’s Northern Electricity Grid (SING) at the future Vitor substation.

In order to connect the plant to the grid, the company will construct three aerial electricity transmission lines – two double circuit transmission lines of 23kV each from the new Chaca substation and a double circuit of 220kV from the new Guancarane substation.
