The new metering devices, which are based on the Echelon FT 5000 transceiver, include Class 3200, 3400, 5000, green class net meter, Din-Mon and interval data recorders.

The LonWorks platform will help E-Mon to link with other products in a multi-vendor network.

Echelon senior vice president and general manager Varun Nagaraj said that the company is pleased that E-Mon has adopted LonWorks technology in its advanced sub-metering products.

"E-Mon’s channels can use the new products to respond to the many building specifications that mandate LonWorks compatibility to ensure interoperability with multiple vendor products," Nagaraj added.

Building operators can manage their energy costs through linking E-Mon sub-meters with LonWorks building automation system.

They can enable applications including tenant billing, cost allocation, demand side management, energy conservation, load profiling, and green building programs.

E-Mon president Don Millstein said that the company is excited that its newest and most advanced sub-meters now include Echelon’s FT 5000 transceiver technology, providing certified functionality with LonMark International to ensure full interoperability with third-party devices and integration with existing BAS.

"LonMark certification will not only open doors for E-Mon’s advanced meters in the building automation market, but also increase brand equity and customer confidence with system integrators in which proven conformance to testing agency guidelines is becoming increasingly important to equipment suppliers,"Millstein added.
