With an installed capacity of 800MW, the new plant produces approximately five billion KWh of electricity per year. This amount is sufficient to supply more than one million homes with electricity. The total cost of investment was E400 million.
The new gas power plant is the first of 25 new power plant projects that E.ON currently plans to build worldwide. From 2007 to 2010, E.ON will invest E63 billion worldwide, around E32 billion will be invested in conventional power generation and E6 billion will be invested specifically in renewables.
