The phase one, which will include installation of about 22.5MW, is expected to start construction in December 2014, while the final phase is scheduled for completion in mid-2015.

The wind farm, which is expected to save around 57,400 tonnes of CO2 per annum, will feature 15 Nordex turbines N100 2.5MW.

EBRD renewables coordinator Grzegorz Zielinski said the bank is proud to support the development of the wind farm in Orla as it will strengthen green energy in Poland.

"We have a strong track-record in the sector and with this project will be able to build on our experience and expertise," Zielinski added.

The EBRD has invested around €6.3bn in all sectors of the Polish economy with a combined project value exceeding €33bn, to date.
