The company will now proceed to tender for the drilling and ancillary services for its five-well on-shore drilling program in Bengkulu, and is now looking at further acquisitions in Indonesia.

Alan Morrison, president and CEO of Ecosse Energy, said: “The approval of our 2010 work program and budget (WP&B) by BPMIGAS allows us to move forward to tender the drilling for our onshore wells. Suitable drilling rigs have already been identified and are available at times to fit with our onshore drilling program targetted to begin in Q4 of 2010.

“This approval allows us to advance our 2010 strategy of proving our reserves on our existing blocks and expanding our oil and gas portfolio of acreages in Indonesia.”
