Under this collaboration, the companies will launch four geothermal projects in Chile and Peru. It includes Mariposa project in Chile and three projects – Tutupaca, Loriscota and Crucero in Peru.
EDC will assume 70% stake in the venture investing $58.3m for the Mariposa project and an additional $8m for another three early-stage Peruvian projects.
The Mariposa project located 300km south of Santiago is estimated to produce 320MW of power.
Meanwhile, the agreements subjected to final documentation and project evaluation by EDC are expected to be concluded during the latter part of 2013.
