Under the proposed plan, EDF will consult with local people about its proposals for a new power plant and its associated development.
The consultation on initial proposals and options for Sizewell C project will last for eleven weeks, starting from 21 November after the feedback from Suffolk County and Suffolk Coastal District Councils.
EDF Energy’s power plant plans will be exhibited at twelve places providing an opportunity for local communities to explore the project and give feedback.
In addition, the firm will provide funding for an independent consultant to help local parish and town councils in drafting their responses to the consultation.
EDF Energy planning and external affairs director Richard Mayson said, "We are committed to carrying out a full and open consultation with local people. I would encourage everyone to play an active role, as their comments and suggestions will be taken into account and will make a difference in shaping our plans."
