The six projects that have been acquired by Horizon Wind Energy are located in the US states of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, within the PJM and MISO transmission systems.
EDP has said that these projects are located in some of the most attractive wholesale electricity markets in the US and are expected to contribute to the consolidation of Horizon’s leading position in these regions.
This acquisition is reportedly in line with EDP’s strategy of reinforcing its project pipeline in the US market, which it claims is one of the countries with the highest growth potential in the renewable energy market.
