According to SeeNews, Hellenic Petroleum is planning to double its petroleum retail network in Southeast Europe as a part of its five-year investment program.

Eko Bulgaria has informed the Bulgarian industry regulator, Commission for Protection of Competition, about its intention to acquire the retail assets, according to SeeNews.

The news source reported that Eko Bulgaria owns 50 petrol stations in the country, while Tempo Petrol owns nine. Eko Bulgaria needs regulatory approval before finalizing the takeover of Tempo’s assets. Local petroleum retailer Petrol, Russian oil major Lukoil, Shell and OMV are the dominant players in the Bulgarian market.
