The Mill Creek wind farm, which currently has about 25,000 acres under lease with over 100 landowner partners, will be an around $400m investment in the state of Missouri.

Element Power plans to start the construction in Q3 2014, with expected commercial operation achieved by the end of December 2015.

The 200MW project, once operational, will be the largest in the state of Missouri, according to Element Power.

Element Power CEO Ty Daul said the project will bring tremendous economic benefit to the local area and the company is proud to be developing it in Holt County.

"We are excited to work with KCP&L GMO and to help address their renewable energy needs by delivering a Missouri-based source of clean energy," Daul added.
