An initial scout drilling program of ten drill sites is currently underway at the company’s 100% owned greenfield Talwood to explore coal deposits located within rugby type geological settings, which are characterised by the presence of smaller sub basins within the early Permian sediments.

The program has been planned as drill lines running in an east/west direction and designed to test the predicted stratigraphic dip in the target area.

Endocoal chief executive officer Tim Hedley said the company has expectations for coking coal from one or both of Talwood and Stockyard Creek.

"The aim is to bring coking coal in as the third part of Endocoal’s ‘three coal products’ strategy," he added.

"At Stockyard Creek, Endocoal may also have potential for coal with coking properties. The laboratory work now underway will confirm the coal quality there."

Geophysical logging is currently underway to confirm the depth and thickness of the coal seams intersected.

Initial coal quality analysis of the coal chips recovered is also underway while drilling is continuing on the second drill hole with results being expected shortly.

Endocoal’s initial Talwood drilling program is expected to be completed during June 2012, with results available in July 2012.
