The gas supply rate has reportedly increased as a result of higher purchase prices. The reason behind the inflated gas purchase prices is the higher price of oil, which is linked to gas rates.
This rate adjustment means that an average household will pay approximately E9 more per month. The same rate change will also apply for district heating. In July 2008, all Eneco customers will be personally informed about the rates applicable to them.
Eneco has said that it is already the cheapest of the large energy suppliers and keeping the electricity rates unchanged means that the price difference will increase slightly. The price for Eneco’s brand of green power, Ecostroom, is expected to remain the same as that of regular electricity.
