The installation of the turbines will be completed in the next three weeks, after which the final assembly will commence.

The turbines will be put into operation at the beginning of 2009 and will then supply sufficient electricity for approximately 7,000 households. This will reduce the amount of CO2 emissions by some 12,000 tons per year, said Eneco.

The wind turbines, which are manufactured by Vestas, have a hub height of 78 meters and the rotor blades have a length of 39 meters. Each turbine has a capacity of 2MW. The wind farm in Halderberge adds 10MW to the more than 600MW of wind power that Eneco can supply. In total, Eneco said that it can thereby provide 500,000 households with power generated by wind turbines.
