The contract will enable Enel Green Power Chile to invest about $611m for the development of 307MW of wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) plants.

The energy and green certificates sold will come from two wind farms and three PV plants.

It has a term of about 20 years for two wind projects and around 25 years for three PV developments.

Endesa Chile participated in the Sistema Interconectado Central’s recent tender and was awarded 15% of the entire offering at a price below the cap.

Enel Green Power owns and operates 180MW in installed wind capacity in Chile, as well as two hydro plants totaling 92MW.

The company is constructing the 99MW Taltal wind farm and three solar plants totaling 136MW in Chile.

Enel Green Power also owns 100MW in geothermal exploration concessions in the country.

Earlier in 2014, the company completed the 90MW Valle de los Vientos wind farm, located in the II Region of Antofagasta in Chile.

The company has recently started construction of the 61MW Talinay Poniente wind farm in Chile’s Coquimbo region.

As of 30 June 2014, Enel Green Power has an installed capacity of about 9.15GW from a mix of sources including wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass.

The company has around 750 plants operating in 16 countries in Europe and the Americas.
