The total wind power capacity installed by Enel Green Power on the island has now risen to 161MW. At full capacity, the new wind farm will produce some 126 million kWh of power, enough to meet the energy needs of approximately 46,000 households, avoiding the atmospheric emission of 94,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).

There are now three Enel Green Power wind farms in operation in Sardinia, generating over 240 million kWh of power, and in 2010, work is scheduled to begin on the Portoscuso wind farm that will have a potential capacity of 100MW. In 2009, Enel Green Power constructed wind farms having 94MW generating capacity in Italy.

Enel Green Power is the Enel Group company engaged in the development and operation of plants generating energy from renewable sources. The company has over 500 plants operating globally, with a generation mix that includes wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and biomass energy sources.
