With an installed capacity of 30MW each, the wind farms will be constructed in the Brazilian state of Bahia and will enjoy incentives targeted at infrastructure development.

The company has also gained the right to sign a 20-year contract to sell the electricity generated by the plants through Brazil’s Chamber of Electrical Energy Commercialization.

The wind farms are scheduled to begin operation in the second half of 2013 and will generate over 390,000MWh of electricity per year,

Enel Green Power said that the power plants will allow it to double its installed capacity in Brazil.
