Through this agreement, Enel will also have an option to participate in the development of an additional 180MW of wind power in Bulgaria, in an area adjacent to Thrace, Greece.

These wind projects are reportedly located in the windiest areas of Greece, mainly in Thrace, where Enel already operates 63MW of electricity generating capacity in Peloponnesus and 16MW in Evia.

Enel said that it is the third largest operator of renewable energy sources in Greece with 91.3MW of installed capacity and 36.1MW under construction, which will be operational by the end of 2008.
