The sale agreement will see Northpower take over Energex New Zealand’s existing contracts. As part of the sale agreement, Northpower has offered to engage the majority of Energex’s New Zealand staff in its business operation.
The New Zealand operation has around 300 staff spread across the North Island, providing planning, design, maintenance, construction and 24-hour fault response services for electricity network owners and clients.
The purchase will result in Northpower taking over Energex’s operations in Warkworth, Mairangi Bay, Penrose, Tokoroa, Matamata, Paeroa, Morrinsville and Whitianga in New Zealand.
