The Nichols Ranch facility is situated in Powder River Basin, in Wyoming, where more than half of all US-origin uranium was produced last year.

Energy Fuels acquired the facility via the purchase of Uranerz Energy last month. Uranium production at a fifth header house has started at Nichols Ranch with indications of positive results.

Production flow rates at the facility have increased by 33% with increase in total uranium production by 25%, compared to levels seen before starting production at the new header house.

Energy Fuels said it anticipates to observe higher rates of production in the future with continuous increase in flow rates and head-grade.

Production from the sixth header house, along with around 60 related production and injection wells, is anticipated to start in the fourth quarter of this year.

Energy Fuels president and CEO Stephen Antony said: "We are very pleased with the operational results currently being observed at the Nichols Ranch Project.

"At this time, our fifth header house and the associated wellfield, is on-budget, on-schedule, and well on its way to becoming a successful uranium producer for Energy Fuels. We are similarly optimistic about the future performance of the sixth header house we have planned for later this year."
