Eni holds 100% equity and operates North Leil and 50% stake in Karawan, where it partners with BP.

These two blocks will be operated by Eni’s subsidiary IEOC.

The blocks are located in the deepwater offshore of the Mediterranean, west of the Shorouk block, which was acquired by Eni in 2014.

The North Leil and Karawan blocks are spread over 5,105 and 4,565 square kilometers, respectively.

Recently, Eni was awarded concession of Southwest Meleiha Block. With the latter two blocks, Eni’s position gets strengthened in Egypt.

Eni has been operating in Egypt since 1954 and is the primary producer with equity of approximately 210,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
