A joint venture between Kiewit Energy Canada and Black&Veatch Canada will complete final design and construct the power plant.
The project is comprised of two 240MW gas-fired turbine generators and one 320MW steam turbine generator.
Preliminary construction including road access and site preparation will begin this month with major construction expected to commence in July 2011.
The facility is expected to begin commercial operation in August 2015.
