The second train with a capacity of 300 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) has expanded the plant’s processing capacity to 600MMcf/d and the extracting capability to about 74,000 barrels per day (bpd) of natural gas liquids (NGL).

Enterprise general partner executive vice president and chief operating officer A J Jim Teague said the Yoakum natural gas facility is providing the company with new growth opportunities.

"Based on the operating results we’ve seen from the first train which began service in May 2012, we expect the second and third trains to perform above their original design capacity, giving us the confidence to pursue additional processing commitments for all three plants," Teague said

The company is also planning to operate the third train at the Yoakum plant in the first quarter of 2013 and further enhance the capacity to 900MMcf/d and the extracting capability to 111,000bpd of NGLs.

Enterprise is also constructing a 173 mile pipeline to further extend its recently completed NGL pipeline system that delivers Eagle Ford Shale production from Yoakum to Mont Belvieu in Texas, where the company is constructing three new NGL fractionators.

The pipeline is expected to begin operations in the second quarter of 2013.
