An underlying profit after tax of A$10.4 million was recorded for the year ended June 30, 2008, compared to A$2.3 million in 2006-07. Total operating costs were up A$2.8 million, or 3% for the year ended June 30, 2008, due mainly to higher leak maintenance and system use gas.
Envestra’s income, which is generated mainly from retailers for delivering natural gas to its customers, was A$346 million, down A$1.3 million from 2006-07.
