The deployment consists of Envision’s Solar Tree structure which will shade and charge six electric vehicles while providing renewable, solar electric energy to GM’s facility.
The Solar Tree structures incorporate Envision’s CleanCharge CI, column-integrated electric vehicle charging stations, and also Envision’s EnvisionTrak multi-axis solar tracking technology.
Envision Solar president and CEO Desmond Wheatley said the Solar Tree structures can be installed in any location while the company’s unique tracking solution allows it to always get the most from the sun.
GM Renewable Energy global manager Rob Threlkeld said GM’s decision to use Envision Solar’s Solar Tree structure dovetails with the company’s environmental commitment to reduce its environmental impact.
