The Lakefield wind energy facility, located in Jackson County, will deliver carbon-free electricity into the MISO transmission system for the benefit of Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) generation portfolio under a 20-year power purchase agreement for 200MW.

Developed by enXco, the wind project includes 137 units of GE 1.5MW turbine, which will have the capacity to produce renewable energy for about 68,000 homes.

Construction on the Lakefield wind facility commenced in late September 2010.

The permanent financing of Lakefield Wind Project is structured as a leveraged lease with Union Bank and MetLife.
