The agreement was finalized in November 2011 for the proposed wind farm, which will be constructed in Ford County, Kansas.

The Spearville 3 wind power project will be developed, constructed, and owned by enXco, and will use 63 units of GE XLE turbine.

The power generated by the wind project will be sold to KCP&L under a 20-year PPA.

The project anticipates the commencement of construction in late first quarter of this year with expected commercial operation achieved by the end of December 2012.

enXco president and CEO Tristan Grimbert said the power project’s proximity to other enXco developed wind facilities, along with near-term constructability and advanced development status, allows both development and transmission synergies.

enXco develops, constructs, owns, operates and manages renewable energy projects throughout the US.
