Pinelands renewable project includes two nominal 17.8MW generating facilities located in Allendale and Dorchester Counties.

Construction is ongoing on both projects, which are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2013.

enXco president and CEO Tristan Grimbert said, "Utilizing wood waste to generate electricity is a proven renewable technology that complements enXco’s robust portfolio of wind, solar and biogas projects in North America."

The two projects will interconnect to Santee Cooper’s transmission system adjacent to the sites, and the produced renewable energy will be sold to the utility under 30-year power purchase agreements.

Summit Industrial Construction is the general contractor for the sites, which use a stoker boiler, supplied by Factory Sales Engineering and a steam turbine generator supplied by GE.
