The wind farm, which is located in Kenedy County, Texas will be powered by 67 turbines of 3MW capacity to be delivered by German turbine-maker Nordex.
Completion of the construction work and commissioning of the wind farm is expected to take place by the end of this year.
The electricity generated by the wind farm will be enough to power more than 60,000 Texan homes and is considered to be the fifth Texas coastal project for the company.
E.ON North America chief operating officer Silvia Ortin said: "Stella is our 23rd wind project in North America and represents a significant investment and growth milestone for the business that is now over 3,600 MW.
"This project was a direct result of the federal policies to encourage growth in the renewable sector and confirms the continued attractiveness of the U.S. wind market. When completed Stella will add to our coastal wind portfolio with now more than 1 gigawatt in operation."
Parallely, the company has started commercial operations on two wind farms including the 228MW Bruenning's Breeze located in Willacy County, Texas and Radford's Run in Macon County, Illinois, with a capacity of 306MW.
E.ON, with its workforce of more than 40,000, is present in over 90 countries and has generated $42bn in sales in 2016. The company has invested around $11bn in renewable energy projects.
