AltEnergy led the Series C financing, which also included OCI and Eos existing investors NRG Energy and Fisher Brothers.

Eos is selling its Aurora 1000|4000, a containerized 1MW/4MWh DC battery system, which enables renewable energy integration.

The company said qualified pre-orders for Aurora systems surpass 3,000 MWh. Product deliveries are due to commence in 2016.

Consolidated Edison of New York and GDF Suez, are among the power firms testing Aurora systems. Pacific Gas & Electric will undertake the tests in the coming months in California.

Several companies including NRG, Exelon, AEP, Enel, National Grid, and others are participating in Eos’s Genesis program to support development, field testing, and commercial deployment of the Aurora product.
