EPA has determined that the cleanup of contamination was found to be protective of human health and that Walter Coke has completed remedial activities at the Hudson K-8 School, which is located in the Collegeville community near the Walter Coke facility.

Walter Coke will assist EPA in its evaluation of contamination in soil at the school.

The cleanup consisted of removing 52,000 cubic feet of soil to a depth of two feet and replacing it with clean backfill.

The cleanup, conducted by the company and its contractors, took place from 10 March 2011 to 8 June 2011 under a voluntary agreement with EPA.
