The city of Novi Sad and EPS have founded nergija Novi Sad (ENS Novi Sad), in order to provide generation of electricity and heating energy.

According to the company, the project involves construction of a modern unit for congeneration of electric and heating energy in combined gas-steam cycle with installed capacity in the range of 400-500MW, with the plant being a base hit load and having the installed capacity of at least 300MW for more than 80,000 households and commercial consumers in Novi Sad.

Within the process of capital increase of the ENS Novi Sad, the city of Novi Sad and EPS will invest existing site with complete infrastructure and generation facilities, and the selected partner is expected to obtain majority stake in ENS Novi Sad by capital increase.

EPS has given time to companies until December 1 of this year to send letters of interest to take part in the EUR200m power project. EPS is likely to shortlist the companies by end of 2009.
