During the inauguration, EQUATE President & CEO Mohammad Husain said, "Sustainability, in all forms within and outside Kuwait, holds great significance to EQUATE, as it has through its EQUATE Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program sponsored and launched many sustainable initiatives in various medical, professional, industrial, environmental and educational sectors. EQUATE has established sustainable partnerships with several local and global entities from public and private sectors to achieve development and progress within an overall framework of innovation and creativity through the efforts of human resources that represent the most important element of success for nations, companies and all organizations. Therefore, forming this partnership between EQUATE and M.H. Alshaya Co. is an embodiment of our tagline ‘Partners in Success’ by allowing children to delve into some parts of engineering relevant to petrochemical plants with their processes, guidelines and regulations through integrating education with entertainment within an environment of amusing culture. All of which are aimed at developing the future’s engineers and other qualified individuals."

Fernando Medroa, Vice President of Leisure & Entertainment at M.H. Alshaya Co., said, "The partnership with Equate furthers our mission of providing children with an edutainment environment that brings to life various workstreams from the grown-up world. In the new Equate establishment in KidZania, children will get to role-play as petrochemical engineers, and see first-hand how the plastic products we use every day are made."

In addition to Husain and Medora, the inauguration was attended by EQUATE VP for Technical Services & Head of EQUATE CSR Team Mohammad Al Benali, as well a number of leaders and employees from EQUATE and M.H. Alshaya Co.

In line with KidZania Kuwait’s unique blend of education and entertainment, children will commence their intriguing role-play journey as petrochemical engineers and carry on their roles after reviewing EQUATE’s environment, health and safety requirements, as well as fun educational videos on the source and use of raw material. In addition, they will receive a brief introduction about EQUATE, the basic principles of the petrochemical industry and how to convert Ethylene into pellets that are manufactured into plastic products we use in our daily lives, such as bags, containers and wrapping material. As part of the applied education at EQUATE’s plant in Kidzania, the children will then collect the pellets and run them through a machine to affirm their compliance with clarity and quality standards, followed by converting the pellets into a plastic object that they can use in education and entertainment. Finally, for their efforts of working at EQUATE’s plant in KidZania Kuwait, the children will be rewarded with a salary in kidZos, KidZania’s currency.
