It will be managed by organizations including NigerDeltaWetlandsCenter, Living Earth Nigeria Foundation and SocialDevelopmentIntegratedCenter. However, the project will be implemented under the leadership of the UK-based International Institute for Energy Development (IIED).

The recent programme is expected to further develop a policy framework to support proper utilization of natural gas for community-based electricity provision and energy.

Sunday Tribune quoted EU stating, “The product would work on scaling up and replicating lessons and successes of the pilot initiatives in order to satisfy the energy service requirements of communities in the Niger Delta.”

The union also expects that the project would help reduce adverse impact of climate change in the Niger Delta region.
