Construction has started on a 1200 MW coal-fired power plant in central Vietnam.
The Vinh Tan 4 power plant will help to relieve power shortages in the south of the country, local press reported deputy prime minister Hoang Trung Hai as saying.
The project is being constructed by South Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi of Japan and two local Vietnamese companies. It will cost some $1.7 billion to build and is scheduled to start operating in 2017.
