The project includes replacement of the unit 1 plant process computer with a system that will add a layer of safety and redundancy and provide operators with improved visuals and plant monitoring capability.
The workers will perform more than 13,000 tasks related to the outage at the power plant.
The plant process computer provides critical data to operators in the station’s control room as they assess plant conditions.
The power station’s two nuclear energy units can produce a total of about 2,300MW at full power, enough electricity to power around two million homes.
