Operators returned the unit 3 to full power on 10 December following the completion of its 22nd refueling outage, which started on 12 November 2012.

During the outage, the station personnel and supplemental workers performed over 11,000 activities, including upgrades, safety inspections, tests and plant improvements.

Dresden site vice president David Czufin commented, "The replacement of the unit’s low pressure turbines and the other work completed during the outage will help ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of Unit 3."

The unit 2 of the power generating plant continued to operate during the unit 3 refueling outage, the company said.

Two operating units are capable of producing over 1,800MW, enough electricity to power nearly two million average homes in the region.
